According to the report of Check Point Software, a provider of the cybersecurity solutions, crypto related viruses and ransomware got on the top of the list of most popular malicious malware in the year 2017.
The first place this year is awarded to RoughTed virus, the second and third places are shared by the crypto ransomware Locky and traffic redirecting programme Seamless. Hidden miner CoinHive is also on the list, it’s got the 6th place in the rating:
“Cryptocurrency mining is a new, but a significant threat on the market of malware. The malicious actors, who exploit it get a considerable income, while the users and companies suffer from lower performance and delays,”– says Maya Horowitz, an analyst at Check Point Software.
