According to the latest report published by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), the North Korean hackers, apparently acting under direct order of the government, have considerably increased the number of their attacks.
It’s interesting to note, that the old-schoolish dictatorship regime decided to intervene in the fintech sector. Most of the attacks use crypto ransomware, which demands ransom in cryptocurrency in order to unlock the encrypted computer data. The other widespread case involves attacks on South Korean cryptocurrency exchanges in order to baffle the financial processes.
These actions, performed by North Korean government, most likely point to the fact that instead of improving the living standards within their country, the state officials have chosen to fight with the welfare of their enemies and resist sanctions, imposed by Donald Trump administration.
